Each Storyteller needs their own Remento subscription and unique email address. The Storyteller is the person who will be recording their memories.
How multiple Storytellers work
Each person recording their memories (called a "Storyteller") needs their own Remento subscription and unique email address. This ensures they receive personalized weekly prompts and their stories remain organized in separate books.
The good news: You can manage multiple Storyteller projects from one account, making it easy to coordinate story collection across your entire family.
Step 1: Set up your first Storyteller
If you haven't already, start by purchasing and setting up Remento for your first Storyteller, following our π Guide to gifting Remento.
β
Step 2: Add additional Storytellers
Adding more family members is simple:
Return to your account and navigate to the main menu
Select "Gift Remento" to start the process for your next family member
Complete checkout for each additional Storyteller separately
Repeat for each person you want to gift Remento to
β
π‘ Pro Tip: Adding a new Storyteller resets your subscription renewal date, giving you more time for all Storytellers to record their stories. For example, if you add a Storyteller on March 1, 2025, your new renewal date for all Storytellers becomes March 1, 2026.
Managing Shared Email Addresses
Each Storyteller must have a unique email address to receive weekly prompts and notifications. If your family members share email addresses, here are two simple solutions:
Option 1: Create separate email accounts (Recommended)
This is the most straightforward approach:
Set up free email accounts through Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or another provider
Optional: Set up email forwarding to their main inbox so they don't miss prompts
Use these new email addresses when setting up their Remento accounts
Option 2: Use email aliases (Gmail/Outlook only)
Gmail and Outlook users can create email aliases using the "+" symbol:
Original email: storyteller@gmail.com
βAlias examples:
How to set this up:
When signing up your new Storyteller, use the alias email address
Or update their email in Project Settings after account creation
Use any text after the "+" (must be alphanumeric)
Keep in mind with aliases:
All emails are delivered to the original inbox
The recipient may receive duplicate notifications
You can use any alphanumeric text after the "+"
Managing multiple projects
Once you've set up multiple Storytellers, switching between their projects is easy:
On Desktop:
Look for the project dropdown at the top of your navigation sidebar
Click the current project name to see all available Storytellers
Select the project you want to view
Check π How to switch between projects for more information.
On Mobile:
Tap the β‘ menu icon to open navigation
Find the project selector at the top of the menu
Tap to switch between Storyteller projects
