You can change the default writing style that turns your recordings into a written story. Either use our Writing Assistant to craft a written story, or maintain the exact words and structure with a “cleaned transcript.”
Can I change the perspective of the written story?
Yes, using Remento's Writing Assistant, you can update a written story. You can select to see the story written in:
The first person (e.g., "I went to the store")
The third person (e.g., "Lisa went to the store")
Or as a cleaned transcript. In this option, we take the storyteller's
Editing your story happens directly in the story page (see below), and you can do this from any device.
When viewing a story, select the Edit button, select Writing Assistant, and then select your mode. In the example below, we are changing the perspective to the first person.
Remento will generate a new preview of your story. Select Update Story to save any changes.
💡 Note: Once you update your story, it will overwrite any existing edits to the written story.
Can I change the length of a written story?
Yes, using Remento's Writing Assistant, you can update the length of a written story. When viewing a story, select the Edit button, select Writing Assistant, and then use the slider to adjust the length. Remento will generate a new preview of your story. Select Update Story to save any changes.

Can my written story be a transcript of my recording?
For some Storytellers, they prefer to see their story exactly as recorded. In this case, Remento only cleans up the original transcript by removing any "ums" or "ahs".
To update your written story to this mode, select the Edit button, select Writing Assistant, and then switch to Cleaned Transcript. Remento will generate a new preview of your story. Select Update Story to save any changes.

Can I edit the text of my story?
Yes, you can edit any of the text in your story. Just select Edit and type directly in your story to edit any details. After editing, select Save to preserve your changes. Note that you can also write anything that you would like added to the story and ultimately printed in your book.
Can I make updates and edits to my story from my phone or tablet?
Yes, you can access all editing tools on mobile devices. Here is a preview of how the experience looks on a mobile device:
How can I change the default perspective of my stories?
You can change the default perspective for all your future stories by going to "Project settings." Go to Transcription mode and select "Edit." Here, you can change the default mode. It will only apply to stories moving forward. To update previous stories, you can edit directly in those stories.
