How do I record a memory?

Whether recording your own life story or helping a loved one to record, Remento's To record a memory on Remento, click the recording link in your weekly email or text prompt, choose audio or video recording, and press the green "Start recording" button. You can record for up to 30 minutes, and Remento automatically transforms your recording into written stories for your book.

How to record stories on Remento

You can access the recording studio by either logging into your private Remento website (https://web.remento.co/), or by finding the recording link in a recent email or text message.

When you enter the recording studio, you can choose to record with audio-only or with video. Your device will ask permission to access your microphone (and camera if you selected video).

Once you grant permission, you'll see a screen with your prompt and the big, green "Start recording" button. You can record for up to 30 minutes, pause and resume, and even re-record if needed. When you are done recording, you can select "Stop" and you'll be guided to review and submit your recording.

From here, you can choose to record another story or take a moment to celebrate! You did a great job, and you're all done until your next prompt arrives.

How do I access the recording studio inside Remento?

  1. Go to Remento's sign in page and follow the steps to log in: https://web.remento.co/signin

  2. Find the prompt you’d like to record from the Sent or To be sent section under the Prompts page.

  3. If you’re on a computer, laptop, or horizontally-oriented tablet:

    1. Tap the Record button.


    If you’re on a mobile device or portrait-oriented tablet:

    1. Tap to open the prompt

    2. Tap Record now

How to access and view recorded stories

  1. Log in to Remento via this link.

  2. Navigate to the "Stories" tab in your dashboard. If you are on mobile, tap the three-line icon (☰) in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to open the menu.

  3. Find and tap to open the desired recording to access it. This ensures that your recordings are organized and always able to be revisited.

Can I upload existing audio or video files?
No, all recordings must be made through Remento's Recording Studio for optimal processing.

How do I know if my recording was successfully uploaded?

You'll see confetti animation 🎊 on screen, and your story will appear in the "Stories" section of your account.

How long can I record for?

Any length up to 30 minutes works. Most stories range from 2-10 minutes. Share what feels right for your specific story.

What if I make mistakes while recording?

You can pause and resume or completely re-record. Natural speech patterns and corrections make your story more authentic.

Can I write my responses instead?

At this time, our platform is designed to capture stories through audio or video recordings only. However, you can record a short audio or video to start. Once it’s processed, a written version will be generated, which you can edit and build on if you’d prefer to continue in writing.
