If you see a “Unsupported browser detected” message when attempting to record, it’s typically due to your browser being in private mode. This can interfere with how Remento functions and prevent recordings from starting properly. Other possible causes of this error include outdated software on your device or browser incompatibility, which may require updates to resolve.
This is a common issue with a straightforward solution. To resolve it, simply switch to a standard browsing window and try again. This will allow Remento to function as intended, so you can continue recording your memories without interruption. Additionally, consider updating your device software or using a different browser, such as Google Chrome, to ensure compatibility.
Quick solution: Turn off private browsing for Remento
The easiest fix is to turn off private browsing just for Remento. This keeps your other browsing private while allowing Remento to work properly.
On your Mac computer (Safari):
Copy the link by tapping the button on your screen
Close the private window where you saw the error message
Open a new Safari window by clicking Safari in your menu bar, then "New Window" or simply tapping the command button (⌘) + N
Go to Remento by typing the web address or clicking your bookmark
Continue with your storytelling
On your iPhone (Safari):
Copy the link by tapping the button on your screen
Tap the tabs button (the square icon at the bottom right)
Make sure you're on "Private" tab - if you see "Private" highlighted at the bottom, tap it to switch back to regular browsing or Start Page to switch back to regular browsing.
Visit Remento through your bookmark or by typing the address
You're ready to record your stories
What to do if I'm still having trouble?
Updating Your Device Software
Ensure your device's software is updated, as outdated systems can lead to compatibility issues. On an iPhone or iPad, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update
to check for updates.
If none of these solutions work:
Try restarting your browser completely (close all windows and reopen)
Check if your browser needs an update (newer versions often fix compatibility issues). For Safari, updating your device's software updates the browser automatically.
Clear your browser's stored data for Remento specifically (this gives you a fresh start)
Consider using a different device to determine if the issue is device-specific.
💡 If you have other browsers installed on your iPhone, such as Google Chrome, you can also use them instead of Safari.
