Whether recording your own life story or helping a loved one to record, Remento's Recording Studio is a guided experience . For those telling their own stories, you'll receive story prompts via email or text message - simply click the link to start recording your experiences, with no need for passwords or downloads. For those gifting Remento, your storyteller will receive these same easy-to-use prompts, and you can help select questions or add family photos that spark rich memories.
When you enter the recording studio, you can choose to record with audio-only or with video. Your device will ask permission to access your microphone (and camera if you selected video).
Once you grant permission, you'll see a screen with your prompt and the big, green "Start recording" button.
You can record for up to 30 minutes, pause and resume, and even re-record if needed.
Focus on content that aligns with your personal experiences and what you wish to share. This flexibility allows for each story to be uniquely meaningful and reflective of your perspective.
When you are done recording, you can select "Stop" and you'll be guided to review and submit your recording.
Recordings are saved automatically upon completion, and relevant connections are notified. This ensures a seamless sharing process without requiring manual updates.
From here, you can choose to record another story, or take a moment to celebrate! You did a great job and you're all done until your next prompt arrives 🎉
What happens after recording
Once any story is recorded, our Speech-To-Story™ technology transforms it into written text that's shared instantly with invited family members. These stories, along with the photo, become chapters in a beautiful hardcover book where QR codes let readers play back the original recordings. Whether preserving your own journey or helping someone else tell theirs, Remento creates a lasting legacy that blends written words with authentic recorded memories.
Tips for a Seamless Storytelling Experience
Ensure a quiet and uninterrupted environment to maintain focus and clarity while recording.
Outline key points or anecdotes you want to include before starting the recording.
Practice telling your story briefly beforehand to ensure you stay within the recommended length without leaving out essential details.
