  1. Toggle between projects or add a project: Tap this to toggle between your projects or to add another project to your account.

  2. Stories: This page shows you all of the recorded stories.

  3. Prompts: This is where you’ll manage all prompts that haven’t yet been recorded. This includes prompts that were sent as well as upcoming prompts.

  4. Project settings: If you’re a host, you’ll see the option to manage details about your storytellers account and prompt series.

  5. My account: Where you can manage your account, including uploading a profile picture, changing your name, and adding subscriptions.

What is the "Prompts" page?

The prompts page is where you manage any prompts that are upcoming or that haven't been responded to yet.

  1. In progress prompts: This shows all of the prompts the storyteller has received via email so far, including when it was sent.

  2. To be sent prompts: This shows all of the upcoming prompts the storyteller will receive, including when it will be sent.

  3. List of people on the account: This shows everyone who has access to the account.

To be sent prompts

These are the prompts that haven't yet been sent to your storyteller, and can therefore still be edited.

  1. Context menu: Tap the ellipses icon to pull up the context menu.

  2. Edit photo: Tap the pencil icon to edit or change the photo.

  3. Edit question: Tap in here to edit the question.

  4. Save changes: Tap here to save your changes.

Expanded context menu

There are various actions you can take from the expanded context menu:

  1. Record now: Tap here to begin the recording process.

  2. Send prompt now: Tap here to send the prompt immediately. 💡 This will also send an email to the storyteller on the account.

  3. Delete prompt: Tap here to delete the icon. Don’t worry, you’ll be asked to confirm this action before it takes effect. This action cannot be undone, so make sure you want to fully delete this prompt as you’ll need to recreate it if you want it back.

Sent prompts

These include all prompts that have been sent that haven't yet received a recording. These have less editing functionality, but there's still a lot you can do with these.

  1. Context menu: Tap the ellipses icon to pull up the context menu.

  2. Edit photo: Tap the pencil icon to edit or change the photo.

Expanded context menu

There are various actions you can take from the expanded context menu:

  1. Record now: Tap here to begin the recording process.
💡 This will record as whoever is listed as the storyteller on the account, so don’t worry if you’re logged in as yourself but you aren’t the storyteller.

  2. Resend prompt now: Tap here to resend the prompt to the storyteller. This will resend the email. It may take up to 10 minutes for the email to be delivered.

  3. Copy recording link: Tap here to copy the recording link to your clipboard. You can then paste this link in a text message or email, and the person you send this to can then click the link to record without logging in.

  4. Delete prompt: Tap here to delete the icon. Don’t worry, you’ll be asked to confirm this action before it takes effect. This action cannot be undone, so make sure you want to fully delete this prompt as you’ll need to recreate it if you want it back.

What is the collaboration menu (invite button)?

Learn more about collaboration in 🔗 How do I invite collaborators? Here, we'll orient you to what you see on the collaboration menu.

  1. Invite by email: Enter the email address of the person you want to invite. After entering the email, tap “Invite” to send their invite. This must be done one at a time.

  2. List of access: This shows the roles of each person on the account. The role shown is directly in relation to the storyteller on the account, and this screen will change if you toggle between different storytellers.

  3. Role type: This shows the specific role. Admins have access to manage the entire account and billing payment, storytellers are those whose stories are recorded and shared on the platform, and collaborators can manage prompts and view stories.

  4. Copy link: You can generate a share link where anyone who clicks the link will be able to create an account and gain access to view the storyteller’s stories.

What is the "Stories" page?

There are a few different things you’ll see when navigating through the recorded stories. On this page, you’ll see a grid of the recorded stories. If there’s a photo associated with the story, you’ll see the photo in this view. To watch the recording, tap and open any card.

  1. Processing story: Any story that needs to finish processing will have a spinning icon in the bottom-left, and you’ll see the original question asked.

  2. Video recording story: Stories with a small video camera indicate the story was recorded using video.

  3. Audio recording story: Stories with a small wave file indicate the story was recorded using audio only.

Individual story views

When you tap into any story, this is the general view you’ll see, with a few variances depending on if there is a photo associated with the story or not, and how the storyteller recorded — whether video or audio only.

Desktop view.

Mobile view.

  1. Story title: This shows the story title. Initially this will be generated by our system, but you can change this by editing the main story title.

  2. Photo or video (if applicable): If there’s a photo associated with the story, this is where you’ll see it. The video recording will play here if storyteller recorded a video and did not upload a photo, otherwise, it will be in (3).

  3. Video or avatar: Shows storyteller's avatar or video recording.

  4. Add photo: Tap this add or remove photo from existing stories.

  5. Expanded context menu: Tap this to access the option to the following actions:

    1. Download recording - Tap this to download the recording.

    2. Re-record story - Tap this to re-record the story.

💡 This does not delete the original story. Learn more by reading Adding to your finished story.

💡 This will delete the story and is not recoverable, so please double-check you’re removing the correct story before confirming you’d like the story deleted.

Learn more in 🔗 Can I change the perspective or length of a written story?

  8. Add reaction (for collaborators): Tap this to add a reaction that will be sent to the storyteller.

Story processing

If the story is still processing, this is what you’ll see:

Notice there’s a context menu on the story processing window. You can choose to re-record the story or delete it entirely. This is helpful if you already know you don’t want to retain the original story. Learn more in Adding to your finished story.
